Military Transition

Military Transition is an exciting, yet challenging time in a service member's life. Not only do you have to learn how to network, write resumes, and perform during interviews, but you also have the challenge of choosing your next move. Will you start a new career? Will you expand your education? Will you embrace becoming an entrepreneur? Will you live the retired life?

Once you have answered those questions, next you may have to determine where you will work. Will it be at USAA? Will you become a GS employee? Will you relocate? Or maybe you may have to determine which college you will go to or how you will pay for it. Will you use your Post 9-11 GI Bill? It could be that you may have to learn how to write a business plan and apply for a business loan. Many look for resources and assistance to obtain certifications like PMP and CompTIA, VA compensation and other benefits, or financial help.

The government provides transitioning service members with support and resources through their Transition Assistance Program (TAP) and Soldier for Life. There are many Military and Veteran Service Organizations (MSOs and VSOs) and other resources. It may seem overwhelming.

We want to help! We want to guide you through coaching, referrals, information hubs, and other opportunities. This page is dedicated to consolidating military transition information and resources. You are not alone during this transition. L.I.V.E. with Courage and others are here to help you move through to your new normal.
